In 1993, through municipal code Chapter 109, the Mayor and Council established the Shade Tree Advisory Committee and the position of Administrator of Tree Conservation. During this same year, Secaucus was officially designated as a “Tree City USA.” The town continues to hold this prestigious distinction thanks to the hard work of the Secaucus Public Works Department.
Mayor Gonnelli and the Town Council recognize the physical, environmental, economic, and social benefits that a well-established and properly maintained tree resource provides to our community. With their full support, the Shade Tree Committee oversees tree planting, pruning, education, and more through a yearly accreditation process run by the NJ Urban and Community Forestry Department and the NJ Shade Tree Federation.Please review the FAQ below to learn more:
